Robert Daniel “Dan” Cloninger,Sr., 71, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at his residence.
A native of Gaston County, Mr. Cloninger was son of the late Cleveland Sloan and Beulah Craig Cloninger. He was a member of Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church in Dallas.
Surviving are his wife Sylvia Helms Cloninger, son Robert D. Cloninger, Jr. and granddaughter Kendal Cloninger; daughter Dana C. Whitesides and husband Jeffrey H. Whitesides; granddaughters Jordan and Morgan Whitesides; a sister Linda Lowman of York, SC.
Graveside services will be private at Gaston Memorial Park with Reverend Charles Ledford officiating.
