Ruth Mitchum Barnette, 96, passed away May 8, 2016 at Countrytime Inn Assisted Living, Kings Mountain. She was born in Bessemer City on January 17, 1920 to the late Lee and Katie Houser Mitchum.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clesby Glen Barnette and son Jim Barnette.
Ruth is survived by her daughter in law Becky Barnette; grandchildren Mike Barnette and his wife Michelle, Gary Howell, Annalisa Levin and her husband Ben, Kim Causby and her husband Doug and Kelly Toney; numerous great and great great grandchildren.
She was a retired nurse, an incredible and inspiring woman, dedicated to family and loved by all.
Funeral service will be 3pm Wednesday at A Simple Service 451 Hospital Drive Gastonia NC 28054. Interment at Westview Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
