Obituary for Valorie Albritton Hanline

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce Valorie Albritton Hanline, 60, of Gastonia, NC ended her long battle with cancer on Saturday, May 19th at 12:30 pm in the comforts and peace of her home with her beloved husband and daughter by her side.
Born July 6th, 1957 and originally from Florida, she began her life in North Carolina in her teenage years and graduated from Garinger High School in 1975. She immediately fell in love with her soul mate, Thomas Michael Hanline, whom she married on February 27th, 1976 and remained happily in love for over 42 years. Valorie had an unconditional love like no other, keeping God, her husband, children, grandchildren and pets always in her heart. She was wonderfully talented, spending many years making a career for herself as a floral designer and artist, but also enjoyed home interior, art of nearly any kind, reading, shopping, cross stitching, cooking and gardening. Many people would agree that Valorie was one of the bravest, caring, selfless, tenacious and gracious souls that they ever had the pleasure of knowing but that does not begin to describe what a beautiful blessing she was to all she touched.
Valorie Hanline was preceded in death by her father William Albritton and is survived by her Mother - Marilyn Barbee, Brother - Bill Albritton and wife Sue, Husband - Mike Hanline, Daughter - Ashley Owens, Sons - Michael Hanline and Christopher Owens, and grandchildren Tyson and Ryan Hanline, and Reagan Owens, as well as many in laws and friends that loved her as their own.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 27th, at Simple Services of Gastonia beginning with an informal visitation at 2:00 pm followed by a small memorial with Pastor John Stanley at 3:00 pm. Please contact Winterpast Flowers for flower needs, as she worked there many years, and they know her best or in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gaston County Humane Society.
