Jimmie Brooks,82, passed away September 3, 2014 at home. He was
born in Jackson County, NC on March 6, 1932 to the late Worley and Ruby Jones
Brooks. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener and was a US Army veteran of
the Korean War. Jimmie is survived by his wife Barbara Sutton Brooks; siblings Norma Rowe, Sam
Brooks both of WA, Pauline Hoyle, Peggy Brooks both of Sylva NC, Janie Helmstetler of Lexington NC, Frank Brooks of Clover SC and Tommy Brooks of Whittier NC.
A memorial service will be 6:00pm on Monday at Temple of Truth Church 1021 Hickory Grove Road, Gastonia. Pastor Scott Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
