Gastonia – Johnnie Vinson Nivens, 74, passed away August 4, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Kinston NC on December 18, 1942 to the late Minnie Vinson. She was preceded in death by her daughter Janice Nivens.
Johnnie is survived by her husband James Nivens; daughters and sons in law Patricia and Tim Scamardo and Shannon and Larry Sechler; grandchildren Victoria Hague and her husband Levi, Michael Scamardo, Meredith Scamardo and Anastasia Sechler; sisters Juanita Messervey, Ann Loy, and Faye Morrison; brother Lynn White.
A memorial service will be 1pm Thursday at A Simple Service, 451 Hospital Dr. Gastonia NC 28054
